The UPA president Mrs.Sonia Gandhi opened the Bandhra-Worli sea bridge to public. There was huge traffic jam in Mahim, Mumbai. Daily 1.25 lakh vehicles were crossing the area. It was decided to construct a bridge over sea in the year 1990. In 2004 Hindustan constructions and Ajith Gulabsand jointly started the work, and completed now.
Usually it will take 60-90 minutes to reach the west mumbai from south mumbai. Now this time has been reduced to only 7-8 minutes. Fuel is also consumed.
